Jennie M. Jordan, age 85, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Friends Fellowship Community.

Born March 20, 1935, in North Salem, Indiana, to Donald and Eva West Lowe, Jennie lived here until moving to Indianapolis, Indiana, when she was eight years old. Jennie was a 1952 graduate of Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. She met her future husband, Richard Bumpas, at church during high school, and they were married right out of high school in 1952. Jennie and Richard had four children. While raising her children, Jennie began working as an accounting clerk at Cigna, an insurance company. When her office in Indianapolis closed, Jennie was transferred to the Richmond office in 1983. She retired from Cigna after 23 years of service. Jennie married Jack Jordan on July 18, 1989. They were members of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where they enjoyed ballroom dancing. Jennie was a member of Central United Methodist Church, but also attended church at Friends Fellowship Community. She enjoyed reading; solving puzzles, including Sudoku puzzles; and traveling out West, especially visiting Hawaii. Jennie had fun feeding the fish and ducks with her two great-grandchildren at the Friends Fellowship Community pond.

Survivors include her children, Dianne (Michael) Holland of Wellington, Colorado, Linda Shae of Eaton, Colorado, and Tom Bumpas of Colorado; granddaughter, Holly (Dustin) Van Treese of Carmel, Indiana; great-granchildren, Annabelle and Luke Van Treese; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Jack J. Jordan, who died November 4, 2019; son, Ronnie Bumpas; parents; brother, Eugene Lowe; half sister, Dorothy Howard; and first husband, Richard Bumpas.

Memorial service for Jennie M. Jordan will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Private burial will be in Spring Lawn Cemetery in New Paris, Ohio.
