NEW LISBON – John Boyd Luellen III, 71, passed away Friday evening September 20, 2019, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
A lifelong resident of Henry County, John was born in New Castle, Indiana on May 10, 1948. John grew up in the New Lisbon community and graduated from Straughn High School with the class of 1966.
He attended Purdue University. John was owner/operator of Luellen Trucking and did custom hauling of grain and gravel.
John loved to spend time with his family and countless friends. He was a collector and admirer of vintage Ford tractors. In his leisure, he enjoyed sitting under his maple tree.
John shared 43 wonderful years with his loving wife, the former Debra Kay Hasty. He is also survived by 2 sons, Jason (Nicole) Luellen of Straughn and Jack Luellen of Kenosha, WI; 2 grandsons, Carter and Beckett Luellen; sister, Susan Jane (Jerry) Leonard of Prescott, AZ; uncle, Charles Luellen of Austin, TX.
John was preceded in death by his father, John B. Luellen Jr.; his mother, Justine Betty (Blackburn) Luellen; grandfather, John B. Luellen Sr.
A future date and time to celebrate John’s life will be announced by his family.
