John E. Dock, 66, of New Castle passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 2, 1953 in New Castle, a son of the late Clifford and Winona (Nipp) Dock.

John was a graduate of New Castle High School and attended Ivy Tech Community College, where he studied Metallurgy, the study of metals. He retired from Navistar in 2002. John enjoyed the outdoors including hunting squirrel and rabbit, going for walks, vacations, traveling but mostly spending time with his grandchildren and taking them to different creeks to let them play. He was a talented musician and love playing the guitar, mandolin and piano.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Anna Dock of New Castle; children, Elisha (Billy) Sparks of Richmond, Chris (Micah) Dock of New Castle; grandchildren, Taylor, Alivia, Conner, Sookie and Annabella Dock, Bethany Hine and Brayden Sparks; great-grandchildren, Keagan & Anna Lynn, Max & Billy Hine; siblings, Robert (Lenor) Dock of Cambridge City, Charlotte Huffman of New Castle, Phyllis (Earl) Howell of Marion, Marilyn (John) Weaver of New Castle, Stephen Dock of New Castle, Joyce Jenkins of New Castle and Sam Dock of Malden, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Katherine Mitchell, Carolyn Hancock, Charlene Dock & 2 infant sisters.

In accordance to the stipulations dealing with CORVID-19, services will be held privately at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mike Winner officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at the funeral home, but please be prepared to wait as we are only limited to 10 guests in attendance at a time.
