John F. Michaels, 79 of Greens Fork, Indiana passed away January 19, 2018 at Reid Health in the Hospice Care Unit. He was born July 31, 1939 in Richmond, Indiana to Jesse James and Dorothy (Wright) Michaels and lived in the Richmond area most of his life. John enjoyed working on his farm, fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends. He also loved spending time with his dogs, especially Max and Wolf, two of his favorites.
Early in John’s life, he worked as a millwright at PRC, and then worked in drywall, painting and home remodeling until he retired in 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Joan Michaels of Greens Fork, Indiana, his sons, John Steven(Liaa) Michaels of Greenwood, Indiana, James (Connie) Michaels of Brownsburg, Indiana, and his grandchildren, Jesse Michaels, Kirstyn Michaels, Brian Damrell and Kyle Kennedy, and a great grandson Alex Damrell. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and lifetime friends Mary Lou Biggerstaff, and Shorty Harrison.
He is preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers Warren, Donald, Jerry, Russell, Duane, Mac and Jesse, and his five sisters, Dorothy Michaels, Betty Imhoff, Arlene Fisher, Janet Wesler, and Sharon Ross.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home. Friends may call from 12:00PM to 2:00PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
