John Floyd VanMeeveren, from February 11, 1935, to March 7, 1921, was born to Gilbert & Artina VanMeeveren. He graduated from Excelsior High School in Norwalk, CA.

John served his country in the US Army as a medic and was stationed in Germany as part of the occupational forces. John worked in the Aerospace Industry retiring in 1994.

He is preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Shelly, brother Wilton, & parents. John & Elaine remained friends with his first wife, Evelyn (Ron) Wells with who he had his sons and daughter.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine Roberts VanMeeveren, sons, Kurt (Jacqueline), Kevin (Rose) VanMeeveren and daughter, Jennifer McIntosh, his stepchildren: Kristi (Garry) Levi, Julie Beach, Eric Roberts, and Scott Roberts, his grandchildren: Gavin McIntosh, Lillian VanMeeveren,  Brooke Dunaway, Autumn Fair, Bradley Levi,  Joshua, Jessica, Jeremy & Hailey Roberts, Lauren Beach, his step-great-grandchildren: Alayna Beach, Jaxxon Roberts, Rogue Fair

He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he met Elaine Roberts and they were married in 2003. They lived in Long Beach, CA, for 8 years before returning back to Indiana in 2010. They had a blessed, very happy life with each other. John was known for his sense of humor and joked around quite a bit.  He was an avid reader of the Bible especially loving the Old Testament and was a prayer warrior. He loved his Lord and is now in Glory.

A memorial service is planned for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, March 11, 2021, in the Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Chapel with Rev. Martin Holman officiating. Friends may call from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to the family via the guest book at stegallberheideorr.com.
