Joseph W. “Joe” Brammer, 71, of New Castle passed away, Friday, July 29, 2022 at Heritage House of New Castle. He was born December 25, 1950 in New Castle to the late Alvie and Wilma (Dick) Brammer.

He graduated in 1968 from Knightstown High School and retired from Warner Gear after 30 years of service. Joe took up wood carving after he retired and was a member of the Raintree Woodcarvers. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting and riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Brammer; children, Eric Brammer, Leah (Justin) Combs; step-children, Kevin (Tamera) Bowen, Stephanie Benson and Jason (Stephanie) Bowen; grandchildren, Alexis Combs, Allisyn Combs, Emma Bowen, Evan Bowen, Mallorie (Jordan Fausnaugh) Benson, Alyssa Benson, Brendan Bowen, Christian Bowen, Noah Bowen and Elijah Bowen; great-grandson, Mason Fausnaugh; siblings, Sybil (Larry) Lawrence, Darrell (Pat) Brammer and David (Shelia) Brammer; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Paul Brammer.

Services will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Tony Darling officiating. Visitation will be from 4 – 6 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday. You may express condolences or share memories of Joe at www.hinsey-brown.com.
