RICHMOND, Ind. – Julia Eileen Pegg, age 75, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, December 24, 2016, at Reid Health.
Born February 24, 1941, in Centerville, Indiana, to John and Millie Shearer Soper, Eileen was a 1959 graduate of Richmond High School.
She was a teacher’s aide for Richmond Community Schools. Eileen was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she was the choir director and song leader, and she attended Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years. Eileen enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time on the farm and with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Dallas Pegg, to whom she was married on February 14, 1960; children, John “J.D.” (Joy) Pegg of Richmond, Rick’s wife Emily Pegg of Richmond, Samuel (Danna) Pegg of North Carolina, Julie (Pete) LeMaster of Marion, Indiana, Rachel (Jeremiah) Price of Pershing, Indiana, and David Pegg of Richmond; 30 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two on the way; brother, Walt (Martha) Soper of Richmond; sister-in-law, Ida Soper; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends and church family.
She was preceded in death by her son, Rick Pegg; parents; brothers, Bill, Samuel, and Johnny Soper; and sisters, Cleo Barkhurst, Ruth Pickett, Zoe Goble, Barbara Combs, Betty Craft, and Sara Marie Soper.
Visitation for Julia Eileen Pegg will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 30, 2016, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Curt Nies and Pastor Jim Noggle officiating. Burial will be in Cherry Grove Cemetery in Lynn, Indiana.
