Larry Jenkins, age 74, formerly of Centerville, Indiana, died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh.
Born March 26, 1944, in Richmond, Indiana, to Clarence and Geneva Bolt Jenkins, Larry was raised in Wayne County and graduated from Centerville High School. He lived in Bellbrook, Ohio, for 20 years, Ashland, Kentucky, for 20 years, and had spent the last 13 years in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Larry was an optician. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Sharon Hawkins Jenkins; sons, Chad (Donna) Jenkins of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, and Jack (Kristi) Jenkins of Snow Hill, North Carolina; grandchildren, Lori Jones, Heather Mason, AJ Jenkins, Kayla Carranza, and Kirsten Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Jason, Timmy, Liliana, Wyatt, Aiden, Jaylen, and Madelynn; sister, Mary Ellen (Steve) Turner; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Geneva; sister, Lois; and brothers, Kenneth, Jackie, and Dennis.
Visitation for Larry Jenkins will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Mills Funeral Home with Donald Fry officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
