Larry W. “Poppi” Wilson Sr. 74 of Richmond died unexpectedly surrounded by his family on June 25, 2022, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born June 25, 1948, in London, Kentucky to Odes and Anna Woodall Wilson and lived here most of his life. He was an antique dealer and owned Larry’s Antiques.

Larry was his family’s hero surviving Cancer 37 years ago. He loved being with his family and grandchildren and going on outings with them. He also enjoyed country music, the casino, and his antique family.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years Bernice, and three children Kathy (Mike) Smith, Missy (Brian) Wissler, and Larry (Amanda) Wilson Jr. all of Richmond, and five grandchildren Kristin (Matt) Wright, Kaylin Smith, Larry “Trey” Wilson III, Emily Wilson, and Baylee Wissler, two great-grandchildren Gavin and Raelynn Wright, a special aunt Ruby Wilson, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law William and Leona Caplinger, and sister in laws Sue Dixon and Joyce Shaffer.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home 222 North 10th Street Richmond with Rev John Shepherd officiating. His burial will be in Elkhorn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
