Linda Jayne (Dehner) Gaddis, age 79, passed away on June 30, 2022, at St. Vincent Carmel Hospital. She was born in Richmond, Indiana on June 6, 1943, to Raymond and Marcella (Crosby) Dehner. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1961, earned her Bachelor of Science in Education in 1966 and a Master of Arts in Education in 1974 from Ball State University. Linda was employed for 40 years at Western Wayne Schools where she planned and implemented the first Speech and Language program in the district. She married David Mark Gaddis on June 7, 1969, and together they had three amazing children. She was a member of various professional organizations and an active member of Richmond Catholic Community. First and foremost, Linda loved her family fiercely and unconditionally. She especially cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed family gatherings and traveling. Linda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Those who were fortunate enough to know Linda were aware that her kindness, support, and loyalty extended beyond her family. Linda was strong, resilient, and persevered throughout her life. She will be dearly missed by many. “We grieve because we love. How lucky we are to have experienced that love.” Left to cherish her memory is her husband, David; children Lisa, Amy (Chris), Kyle (Jackie); grandchildren Emma, Harper, Kathryn, and Ella; brothers Dr. Thomas (Marlene) Dehner, Dr. Jerry (Marilyn) Dehner, best friend and sister Karen Clarke. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Robert (Carolyn) Gaddis, Jay Smith, and many loved nieces and nephews. Additional special family members include Mary Eileen Fritz, Lucas (Anadéli) Camargo and Andre Camargo. We would be remiss if we did not include Millie, her steadfast four-legged companion. Linda is preceded in death by mother Marcella Dehner, father Raymond Dehner, half-brother Paul Dehner, father and mother-in-law Harold and Ruth Gaddis, brother-in-law Tom Clarke, and sister-in-law LouAnn Smith. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday July 7, 2022, at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Richmond, Indiana. Father Todd Riebe will officiate.
