Linda Lee (Young) Huckeby, 68, of New Castle went to meet her Lord and Savior Saturday, June 27, 2020. She was born on November 7, 1951 to the late Rev. Clarence and Gaynell (Corder) Young.

Linda was a 1970 graduate of New Castle High School. The epitome of Proverbs 31, Linda was a woman after God’s own heart. She was a faithful member of Grand Ave. Baptist Church where she taught the Bible Learners Sunday School class for nearly 30 years and served in many capacities in the Grand Avenue Loyal Sisters. Together, with her husband Phil, Linda was the owner and operator of the New Castle Dairy Queen for 31 years. Linda touched so many lives through her church ministry, as well as through her store.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Phil, whom she married June 30, 1973; daughter, Amy (Ryan) Nunn of New Castle; sister, Joyce (Paul) Conyers; father-in-law, Walter Wagner; and several cousins and dear friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Paul Conyers and mother-in-law, Virginia Wagner.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 2, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.at Hinsey Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with pastors Charles Dugger and Tony Piper officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Ave. Baptist Church Sunday School Department.
