Mrs. Linda Sue Lucas, 74, of Connersville died on Sunday November 28, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital, in Indianapolis.

Linda was born to Charles H. and Lora P. Brown Smith on May 5, 1947 in Fayette County, Indiana. She worked as a production assistant on the assembly line at Visteon in Connersville. Linda retired from Visteon on November 3, 1990 after many years of dedicated service. Linda was a member of the 10th Street Full Gospel Holiness Church in Connersville. She enjoyed spending her time watching Perry Mason reruns on television. She also loved to watch Hallmark movies, especially the Christmas movies, which celebrate her favorite time of the year. Linda was an animal lover, caring for her cats and dogs. Linda was known as a very giving person, who would help anyone in need. She will be best remembered as a loving wife and wonderful mother. She will be deeply missed.

Linda is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Willie Lucas, whom she married on August 25, 1973; one son, William Lucas of Connersville, one daughter Kimberly (husband David) Fuller of Connersville and a stepdaughter Billie Jo (husband Pete) Earlywine of Greensburg; one brother Charles (wife Geraldine) Smith of Liberty; one sister, Marcella Gibbs (companion Tim Sturgeon) of Connersville; 3 grandchildren, Robert Earlywine, Rebecca Fuller and Ashely Earlywine; great grandchildren Zarek Earlywine, and Amira Earlywine; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.

Reverend Robert E. Lee will conduct a funeral service at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, Myers Chapel in Connersville on Friday December 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call on Thursday December 2, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Everton Cemetery in Everton, Indiana. The family has requested that memorial contributions be sent to the Fayette County Animal Shelter in honor of Linda. The family would like to thank St. Vincent Hospital for their care and compassion, especially Abby Willie, Linda’s nurse.
