Loren Eugene Shaffer, age 90 of New Paris, OH, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1932 in New Paris, OH to the late John Shaffer and Mary (Petry) Shaffer.
Loren served in the US Army and served during the Korean conflict. Loren was a member of Castine Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Steve Shaffer; brother Don Shaffer; and step-daughter Kerry Cote. He is survived by his wife Joan (Beaudoin) Shaffer of 32 years; daughters Connie (Frank) Rose, and Terri Lynn Cornwell; step-children Cheryl Rice and Stephanie (Tom) Kelly; siblings Leland (Helen) Shaffer, Wanda (Bob) Smith, John (LeeAnn) Shaffer, Jr., and Allen Shaffer; sister-in-law Dixie Shaffer, 8 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, August 6, 2022 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH, followed by the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m., with Pastor Duane Denliger officiating.
