Lucius T. Miller, 86, of Connersville, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at Reid Health in Richmond, following extended health issues. He was born on February 12, 1933, in Bentonville, Indiana, and is the son of the late Israel Miller and Adah Green Miller. He married Sue Ann Cushing on January 22, 1955, in Cambridge City. They were members of Connersville Baptist Temple Church.
He had worked at Demolay for Boys for several years before it closed.
Lucius enjoyed taking his sons fishing and hunting. Later in life, he got into bowling and playing euchre and Bingo at the senior center. He was a 50 year member and 1976 past master of Warren Lodge #15 F&AM. He was also past worthy patron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 346 of Connersville twice. Lucius also belonged to the Red Cross of Honor.
Along with is wife of 64 years, he is survived by two sons, Roger (Debbie) Miller and Len (Tee) Miller; three grandchildren, Brian (Teri) Miller, Stephanie Eckerle, and Brenton (Megan) Miller; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-granddaughter, Lily Ann Miller; half-sisters, Rita Tares, Bonnie McBride, Doris Besco; and Charles (Alice) Flowers, Maxine Conyers, Robert Miller, and George Leslie Mardis.
Visitation for Lucius will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by the Warren Lodge #15 F&AM at 12:45 pm on Saturday. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm, at the funeral home, with Reverend James Orr officiating. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
