Margaret E. Fowler, 97, of New Castle passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020, at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born May 10, 1922 in Albany, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Homer and Molly (Polston) Shelton.

Margaret was a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping, walking, working in the yard, mainly flower gardening. Margaret loved caring for her family, especially her children.

Survivors include her children, Steve (Linda) Fowler of Middletown and Susan (Alfred) Figueroa of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Tawnya Evans, Doug Fowler both of New Castle, Nikki (Michael) Turnage of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Thomas (Jennifer) Adams of Indianapolis; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-granddaughters; sisters, Patty (Bill) Jones of New Castle, Phyllis “Jean” Logan of Richmond, and Caroline (Don) Benedict of Hagerstown; daughter-in-law, Donna Fowler of West Lafayette; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Fowler; son, Roger Fowler; 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2020 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
