BENTONVILLE- Martha “Barbara” Golay, 93, passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon February 20, 2020 with her daughters by her side.

A daughter of the late Benton and Stella (Roberts) Conley, Barbara was born in Bud, Kentucky on June 15, 1926. She graduated from Lewisville High School and attended Ball State University.

Barbara married Orlan Golay in Cambridge City, Indiana on July 23, 1947. At that time she began her life on the dairy farm, raising their daughters, milking cows, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables, and being a seamstress. Barbara was a devoted wife and mother. She put her family first and was always there with a helping hand. She attended several churches which included the Methodist and New Hope churches in Lewisville and Ebenezer Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include four daughters- the “Golay Girls”- Anita (Steve) Miller, Paula (Robert) Foster, Karen (Chane) Tower and Ronda (David) Chew; grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Dustin and Nikki Miller, Orlan Foster, Doshia Burk, Kevin Tower, Katie Hokanson, Emily Wigginton, Jordan and Briana Chew, John and Joe Michael, Keri Lackey; 21 great-grandchildren 1 sister, Betty Stevens; nieces and nephews.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Orlan Glenn Golay on August 24, 2010; step-daughter, Marlene Michael; 6 siblings, Mendon, Oliver, Cordell and Lynn Conley, Pauline Hickman and Faye Johnson.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Friday February 28, 2020 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Dublin. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
