Marvin Wilbert Fudge, 88, of Lynn, IN passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 8, 2018. He was born January 23, 1930 in Wayne County, IN the son of Russell and Edith (Stoops) Fudge. He was a 1948 graduate of Williamsburg High School.
Marvin married Joan Thornton August 7, 1949 and built their home in Lynn. He drove a milk route for Wayne Dairy for many years and retired in 1995 from Randolph Southern School Corporation as Maintenance Supervisor. He was an accomplished woodworker and jack-of-all trades. An avid basketball fan, he was named to the Randolph Southern Athletic Hall of Fame after serving for over 30 years as their basketball timekeeper. He was a member of First Church of Christ of Lynn, IN.
He leaves to cherish his memory four children, Greg (Sylvia) Fudge of Sterling, VA, Scott (Bev) Fudge of Indianapolis, IN, Candi (Jim) Neal of Selma, IN and Mary (Troy) Gobbett of Indianapolis, IN; a son-in-law, Larry Franklin of Lynn, IN; eight grandchildren, Kyle and Emily Smithson, Lyle, Alex and Hannah Franklin, Megan and Tyler Fudge and Lindsay Gobbett; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and neighbor, Marty Martin. He was preceded in death by his parents; a loving wife, Joan; daughters, Brenda Franklin and infant Sarah Fudge; sisters Erma Shiebla, Thema Perry, Shirley Morrison, Gloria Oler; and a brother, Everett “Bud” Fudge.
A service to celebrate Marvin’s life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at First Church of Christ of Lynn, IN. Burial will follow in Willow Grove Cemetery of Fountain City, IN. Family and friends may gather to share and remember from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 12th, at Wilson Shook Funeral Home, Thomas Memorial Chapel of Lynn, IN.
