Mary Frances Morgan, 91, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
She was born April 6, 1928, in Union County to Homer L. and Flossie Marie Dees.
She graduated from Short High School in 1947. She met her sweetheart on a blind date. Mary and Charlie were married on April 12, 1953. Mary’s work career was spent at JC Penney’s in Richmond, retiring in 1997.
She has been a lifelong member of Salem Friends Meeting, was active with Kappa Delta Phi and the Laughing Liberty Ladies Red Hat Society. Mary was very social. She enjoyed attending the Reminisce program at the Union County Library and playing Euchre. She also enjoyed traveling and eating out.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Sandy (John) Beard of Centerville, granddaughter, Amber (Matt) Davis of Indianapolis, great-grandchildren, Arden Marie and Asher Scott Davis of Indianapolis, sister-in-law, Judy Dees of Eaton, OH, many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding Mary were her husband, Charles L Morgan, who passed January 9, 1999, her parents, Homer and Marie Welch. She also had one sister, Edna Mae (John) Marling and one brother, Raymond L Dees.
Her family would like to thank everyone that visited, sent cards and gifts during her stay at Forest Park. We would also like to thank those that were close to her during her years at home, from helping her to be able to stay in her home to being her companion and chauffer.
Visitation for Mary was Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 10:00am until 12:00pm, at Urban-Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N. Main St, Liberty, IN. The funeral service began at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Paul Ayers officiating. A graveside service followed in Fairhaven cemetery in Fairhaven, Ohio.
