Max “Bud” W. Rhodus, 76, a lifelong Hagerstown resident, passed away Tuesday morning, July 3, 2018, at Reid Health, Richmond.
One of three children of Norman Ramsey and Helen Eva Favorite Rhodus, Max was born on November 16, 1941.
On June 30, 1963, Max married the former Connie Elwood in Cambridge City, Indiana. Mrs. Rhodus survives.
From 1956 until 1987, Max worked for Bruns Brothers Excavating in Hagerstown, he then owned and operated Rhodus Construction from where he was semi-retired.
Max was a member of Hagerstown First United Methodist Church and in his leisure time enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending auctions.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Connie Rhodus; three children, Karen Rhodus, Kim (Tim) Davis, and Pam Mertz; a grandson, Christopher Mertz; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, Max was preceded in death by a brother, Ollie Rhodus, a sister, Norma McIntyre, and best friend, Lee Ozbun.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Culberson Funeral Home, 51 Washington Street, Hagerstown, Indiana. Pastor John Huff will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery, Hagerstown. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2018 and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home, Connersville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
