Michael Harold Ankrom, 72, of Milton, IN passed away on October 19, 2018. Michael was born on January 16, 1946 to the late Walter Jesse and Harriet Francis (Raffenberger) Ankrom.
Michael graduated from Straughn High School in 1964. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War and after returning home attended Indiana University. He was a retired toolmaker for Chrysler of Kokomo, self proclaimed electronics repairman, who would offer to work on anyone’s computer, free of charge…..that is work on, NOT repair and return in working order. He loved and took pride in his Scotland heritage. He became a father of two from his first marriage. Then in March of 1994, over 30 years later, lost love is found when he reconnects and marries his school days crush, Lynna Sue (Jessop), the love of his life and she was that special thing that made his spirit whole. With that he gained 5 bonus-kids by marriage, in total making him a father of 7. later, grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. He and Lynna would have celebrated 25 years of marriage in March.
Michael was a giving and generous man, who loved his family very much and always enjoyed spending time with any one of them. Whether it was the Ankrom family reunions or attending anything the grandchildren were involved in, whenever he was able, he loved supporting whatever they were involved in.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lynna Sue (Jessop); daughter, Melissa Bruder; step-children, John Newhouse (Angie Cornett), Scott Newhouse (Chrissy), Beth Ann Moistner (Kevin), Kathy Meal (Steve) and Susan Moistner (Rob); 25 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie Shay and Marie Scott; brothers, Maurice, John (Pricilla) and Steve (Bonnie) Ankrom; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Ankrom; his grandparents; sister, Sandra Dale and brother, Raymond Ankrom.
