Michael William Hannah of Richmond, Indiana, died on September 18, 2019, at Reid Memorial Hospital after a short battle with cancer.

Michael was born on December 26, 1953, in Queens, NY, the son of Quentin and Helen Hannah. He grew up in Hicksville, NY, with his siblings Quentin and Kathy.

Following high school, Michael enlisted as a Marine and served one tour in Vietnam.

After a return to civilian life, he attended the New York Institute of Technology where he earned a BS in Chemistry. Michael continued his education at Wharton School of Business where he earned an MBA. Michael worked in various capacities in the computer field including RWD and NASA.

Michael later taught sailing at the Chesapeake Sailing School, Annapolis, MD. Finally, in Richmond, IN, he was self employed rehabbing homes.

Michael leaves his wife Christine Hannah, and sister, Kathy Eckersberg. He is survived by his children; Timothy Larsen, Michael Quentin Hannah, Mary Hannah and Elizabeth Hannah.

Michael enjoyed several adventures sailing the Islands, and touring the Middle East, Sri Lanka, Greece, Turkey, and Italy. Michael worked with the Boys Scouts instilling devotion to God and country and a life of service to boys. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Parish in Richmond, IN and volunteered regularly at Seton Catholic High School. Michael will be missed for his sense of fun, good humor and love of family.

The family will receive their relatives and friends at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 235 South 5th St; Richmond, Indiana 47374 on Thursday, September 26, from 9-10 am. The funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. Final interment will take place at a later date.
