Daleville…Myron Eugene Matney, 88, resident of Daleville, passed away October 12, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Henry County, March 19, 1928, the son of Owen and Myrtle Gustin Matney.
He had worked at General Motors for many years and was a graduate of New Lisbon High School.
He had attended the New Lisbon Christian Church and loved farming.
Survivors are his wife: Norma (Over) of Daleville, Children: Pamela Matney of Daleville and Penny Thompson (Danny) of Defiance, Ohio, 3 grandchildren and 5 step grandchildren, 2 brothers: Marvin (Phyllis) and Jearld (Deanna) Matney of New Castle, 2 sisters: Deloris Bennett of California and Jeannette Stapleton of Dublin, several nieces and nephews, good friends: Brad Golden, The Spanglers, The McKinneys and Diane Ridenour.
A celebration of his life was held on Monday at 10:00 am at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut Street, Daleville, with Pastor Mark Lomison officiating.
Burial followed at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. Friends called at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-8 PM.
