Obituaries - Norma Jean Sittloh

Mrs. Norma Jean Sittloh, 92, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 6.

She was born on July 12, 1925 in Richmond, Indiana to Leslie M. and Pearl Coffman Shute. She was a 1942 graduate of Williamsburg High School. She married Donald L. Sittloh on September 16, 1945. They were blessed with 63 years of marriage before his death on July 28, 2009.

Mrs. Sittloh formerly worked as a secretary and later at AVCO during World War II. When the family started growing she became a full time homemaker and farm wife, raising six children and taking care of her husband. She enjoyed drawing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Williamsburg Friends Meeting and Williamsburg Chapter #225, Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Sittloh will be missed by her children, Donald W. “Jack” Sittloh and his wife, Sheila; Leanna Reeves and her husband, David; Charles Sittloh and his wife, Jan; Phillip Sittloh and his wife, Heather; Duane “Eric” Sittloh and his wife, Kelly; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Sittloh; 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sister, Janice Shute; brothers, Ralph Shute and David Shute; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Sittloh was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Marcus Sittloh; grandson, Brian Sittloh; and brother, Marion Shute.

A funeral ceremony was conducted on Monday, October 9, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment followed in Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville.
