Patricia “Patty” Louise May, age 90, of Centerville, Indiana, peacefully passed Monday, June 27, 2022 at home. Born June 28, 1931, in Goshen, Indiana, to Jyle N. and Bernice B. Beard May.

Patty was a life-long resident of Centerville. She worked at Swain Robinson for many years, was the secretary at Centerville Elementary School, and for over twenty years was a legal secretary in Wayne County. Patty enjoyed gardening, baking pies and sugar cookies. Her neighbors will greatly miss her homemade pies. She loved sewing and was an expert at canning pickles. Patty never met a stranger and always extended her hand first. Survivors include her daughters, Melanie Fulton of Cincinnati, Ohio and Melissa (Kurt) Collins of Live Oak, Florida; grandchildren, Stacey, April, Joe, and Pam; great-grandson, Jacob; sister, Carolyn May-Sbarge of Richmond; brother, Robert May of LaGrange, Kentucky; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Jean Blose and Gracia Nitzsche; and brother, James May.

Arrangements are being handled by Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. The family would like to thank Reid Hospice for the excellent care they gave Patty.
