Phillip Q (PQ) Miller, Fort Pierce Florida and formerly of Richmond Indiana, left this earth with a golden fishing rod in his hand on Saturday, May 1, 2021. He is currently fishing in the best fishing lake in Heaven. He was known by most as “PQ” as he was given that nickname by his father after his birth when he was informing his other children of the new arrival to the family.

PQ graduated from Boston High School, Boston Indiana in 1961 where he was known for his outstanding athletic ability in both baseball and basketball. He retired from Alcoa in Richmond after 25 years and also worked at AVCO and Green Acres in Richmond. He moved to Fort Pierce Florida in 2012.

He loved the outdoors and over the years spent countless hours fishing, hunting, camping and gardening. He taught many family members and friends how to fish which was a lifelong passion. He adored his family especially his grandchildren which he has passed on one of his greatest traits, the art of pranks and mischief. They will carry on his tradition proudly.

PQ is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice, daughter Vicki Sayne, son in law Brian, grandson, Matthew, granddaughter Alyssa Wysong and her husband Timothy. Also surviving are his siblings, Mary Raymond, John (Jack) Miller, Linda Sayne and Fred Miller along with a large extended family of sister in laws, nieces and nephews.

At his request, there will be no public service, a Celebration of life gathering will be scheduled for a later date. In order to honor his memory, grab a fishing pole and take a family member or friend fishing. He will be smiling down from Heaven. Arrangements are under the direction of Haisley Funeral & Cremation Service, Fort Pierce. An online guest book may be signed at www.haisleyfuneralhome.com
