CAMBRIDGE CITY – Phyllis “Louise” Stephenson, age 89, passed away peacefully Monday morning December 24, 2018, at Green House Senior Living Community in Carmel, Indiana.
She was born September 30, 1929 in Middle Tennessee to the late Sam and Bessie Nafe. Louise graduated in 1947 from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City and was the Valedictorian of her class.
She worked at REMC in Richmond for many years before becoming a bookkeeper for a large transportation company. At the age of 67 she acquired her Real Estate license.
Louise’s proudest and most important moments were those with her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family mourns her loss while honoring the importance she had on each of them.
Those left to cherish her memory are sisters, Marilyn (Mark) Owen and Shirley Nafe of Redmond, WA; sons, David (Lona) Newton of Zionsville and Steve (Cindy) Newton of Lafayette; grandchildren, Cody Newton of Columbus, OH, Amanda (Chris) Fles of Xenia, OH, Tara Newton of Chicago, IL and Kyle (Michelle) Newton of Seattle, WA; great-grandchildren, Noah, Piper and Eli Fles.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 2 p.m. on Friday December 28, 2018 at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, 1993 Cumberland Street- Dublin, IN 47335. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery in Dublin.
