Richard A. “Rick” Acton, age 64, of Lynn, Indiana, died Sunday, July 17, 2022.
He was born January 15, 1958, in Winchester, Indiana. Rick lived in Oregon for many years, until moving back to this area in 2021. He was a career over the road truck driver, and a veteran of the United States Army. Rick was a hard-working man, who never met a stranger. He was always willing to help others whenever he could. He worked hard and played even harder when it came to racing. Above all, Rick loved his family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Kathy Seay Acton, to whom he was married on October 6, 1984; mother, Carolyn Buttery; father, Jim Acton; three daughters, Tia Flores Laywell (Chris Williams) of Missouri, Kara Acton of Richmond, and Melissa Acton of Winchester, Indiana; son-in-law, Steven Warner of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jennifer Dinkins, Lisa Jamison, Linda Pierce, Angelia Moore, and Amy Moore; brothers, Gary Acton, David Acton, and Danny Acton; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Acton; stepfather, Robert Moore; maternal and paternal grandparents; and son-in-law, Aaron Laywell.
