RICHMOND, Ind. – Robert W. Geddes, age 75, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, January 4, 2020, at Reid Health.

Robert was born July 10, 1944, in Amsterdam, New York, to Rev. Robert Arthur and Erma Eddy Geddes. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Robert was a social worker for the state of Maryland for 27 years before retiring. He was a resident of Richmond for the last 10 years. Robert was an active member of Kirk-Little VFW Post #1108. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca (Stephen) Swisdak of Sykesville, Maryland; son, Brian (Ashley) Geddes of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren, Owen Tribolet and Nora Webb Swisdak and Lorelai Elizabeth and Vivian Irene Geddes; stepmom, Catherine Geddes of Arnold, Maryland; sister, Barbara Formica of Arnold, Maryland; brother, David Geddes of New Jersey; nieces; nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial visitation for Robert W. Geddes will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Memorial service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery’s Veteran’s Field of Honor at the convenience of the family.
