GREENS FORK, Ind. – Ronald L. Harris, age 72, of Greens Fork, Indiana, died Sunday, January 1, 2017, at St. Vincent Hospital.
Born April 23, 1944, in Fountain City, Indiana, Ron was a life-long resident of Wayne County.
He worked at Belden for 40 years and was a courier for Mid-American Clinical Lab. Ron was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Joan Bennett Harris; daughter, Dawn Harris of Richmond, Indiana; son, Ronnie Lee Harris of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Kelsey Davis and Madison Harris; brothers, John (Sandy) Chasteen of Williamsburg, Indiana, Burgess (Joan) Chasteen of Hamilton, Ohio, and William (Della) Chasteen of Winchester, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Etta Harris Chasteen; step-father, Burgess Chasteen; and brother, Wilbur Chasteen.
Visitation for Ronald L. Harris will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Martin Holman officiating. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery.
Ron requested that door prizes be given away at his service.
