Ronald T. Winchester, age 66, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at Hickory Creek Nursing Home in New Castle. He was born June 27, 1955, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Tommie Lee and Evelyn Leta (Ford) Winchester.
Ronnie attended Spiceland High School. He worked at Pendleton and New Castle Prison as a prison guard before retiring from Pendleton after 35 years of service. Ronnie was a musician and enjoyed music. He was a member of several bands including, Borderline, Stillwater, Nite Owl, Marshall Law, Badger and Chuck Mock bands. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and gardening.
Left to cherish his loving memory include a son, Brandon Winchester; a daughter, Brandy (Chuck Williamson) McIntosh; four grandchildren, Brandon, Kaylynn, Shannon, Corbin; two great-grandchildren, Silas and Jayce; three sisters,Cathy Winchester, Pebbles (Clint) Caudill and Donna Marcum; ex-wife, Kay; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; three sisters, Carol Lynn Winchester, Debby Golden, Susan Purvis; two brothers-in law, Dick Marcum and Bruce Purvis; a niece, Paula Perry.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, 2022, at Rose City Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle with Chuck Mock officiating. Burial will follow at Hillsboro Cemetery.
