RICHMOND, Ind. – Ronnie Young, age 79, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, January 31, 2020, at Reid Health.

Born July 21, 1940, in Bedford, Indiana, to Charles Kenneth and Vasta Lucille Lewis Young, Ronnie spent much of his adult life in Richmond. He retired from Johns Manville after 36 years of service. Ronnie was a Past Master of the Whitewater Lodge No. 159, F. & A.M. in Williamsburg, Indiana, and a member of the Tarum Shrine and Indianapolis Valley of Scottish Rite. He enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns, photography, and taking long drives to find interesting subjects.

Survivors include his five children, including Richard Filby of Lebanon, Indiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Leroy (Rea Dawn) Young of Bedford; nieces; nephews; cousins; many friends; and his cat, Misty.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vasta Lucille Lewis Kern; father, Charles Kenneth Young; and brothers, James and Wayne Spires.

Visitation for Ronnie Young will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. There will be a Masonic Service at 12:45 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Reuben Dunkle officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
