Rosemarie Wuertemberger, age 90, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Reid Health.

She was born on November 14, 1930, to Edward and Lucy Cable Kruckeberg. “Rosie”, as she was known to family and friends, grew up in Versailles, Ohio, before moving with her family to Boston, Indiana, where she attended Boston High School through graduation. Rosie was a cheerleader and active in school-related activities. After high school, she worked at Wayne Dairy where she met Paul Wuertemberger. They were married on December 31, 1950, and became partners in life. Together, they ran a dairy farm and raised a family of five children until Paul’s death in 2009.

Rosie was committed to her family. She embraced the role of farm wife and the many jobs it included. Rosie supported all her children in their musical and sports interests, including attending many band performances, orchestra concerts, ball games, wrestling matches, and track events over the years. When she had time, Rosie enjoyed playing cards with her dear friends in the Elkhorn Club, making candles, oil painting, and traveling.

Rosie was committed to her faith. She attended St John’s Lutheran Church for many years, singing in the choir and supporting her children in their religious education and many youth group activities. More recently, Rosie attended First English Lutheran Church and was a regular participant in the religious services at Forest Park Health Campus.

Survivors include her children, Lynn Wuertemberger and his wife, Beverly, of Carmel, Indiana, Kim Wuertemberger and his wife, Terri, of Richmond, Paula Humphreys and her husband, Danny, of Owensboro, Kentucky, Brian Wuertemberger and his wife, Kathy, of Richmond, and Heidi Thurston and her husband, Don, of Fountain City, Indiana; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Breward of Manchester, Tennessee; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Paul, and parents.

The family would like to thank the staff of Forest Park Health Campus for the care and kindness they gave their mother during the time she was there.
