Roy Eugene Beasley, 92, formerly of Connersville, a resident of Greenwood, Indiana, since March of 2018, passed away late Sunday evening, January 26, 2020 at Franciscan Hospice House, Indianapolis.

He was born on September 7, 1927 in Bedford, Indiana, and was raised by his grandparents. On June 30, 1949, Roy married the former Alma E. Hisle in the First Baptist Church of Bedford. The couple lived in Cambridge City when their first son was born, Robert Eugene Beasley. They moved to Connersville in 1955 and their second son, Paul Thomas Beasley, was born in 1957.

A veteran of the U.S. Army Airforce, Roy served during World War II. He was employed for over 35 years as a tool grinder for Roots Blower before retiring in 1992.

Faithful members of Park Place Church of God, he participated along with his wife at the church annual fair tent and also helped with many church dinners and activities. In his leisure, Roy enjoyed working in his very large vegetable garden, and he especially enjoyed raising his garden potatoes.

Survivors include a son, Paul Thomas Beasley of Coppell, Texas; a daughter-in-law, Carol Beasley, of Greenwood, Indiana; two grandchildren, Ryan (Anna) Beasley of Brookings, South Dakota, and Diana (Adam) Kjerstad of Greenwood, Indiana; and two great-grandchildren, Jessica and Rebecca Kjerstad.

Besides his wife, Alma Beasley, he is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, a sister, Doris Mae Logdson, and his son, Robert Eugene Beasley, who passed away August 16, 2019.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with his grandson Ryan Beasley officiating. Burial with military rites will be held at South Lawn Cemetery, Dublin. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
