Ruby M. Haney, 77, passed away on May 2, 2021 at her home in Lynn, Indiana.
Ruby was born on August 2, 1943 in New Castle to the late Oscar “Jeff” and Ruth J. (Isenbarger) Brown. She was a 1961 graduate of Lynn High School. Ruby married David Haney in 1962. Ruby worked as the bookkeeper for Lynn Elevator for 44 years. She was also the bookkeeper for her and her husband’s business, Haney Tech Tire Supply. In her later years she worked in home healthcare. Ruby enjoyed bowling with her girlfriends and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Ruby is survived by two daughters, Shelly Ward (husband Bart) of Lynn and Julie Russell (husband Emery) of Milton; four grandchildren, Kailee and Lindsay Ward of Lynn and Devin and Nicholas Williams of Milton; great-grandson Gibson Burkhardt of Lynn; sister, Shirley Russell of New Castle; special friend, Dan Engle of Carlos; and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, David Haney; and her brother, Boyd Brown.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruby’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home in Fountain City, Indiana. Pastor Gary Taylor will officiate. Burial will follow in Quaker Lynn Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
