Sandra “Sandy” Wills, 68, of New Castle passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Hancock Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 19, 1949 in Henry County, a daughter of the late Roy and Anna Turner.
Sandy was a 1967 graduate of New Castle High School and attended Indiana Business College. She led a very active life both professionally and personally. Sandy and her husband, Billy, owned and operated, Wills Furniture in Knightstown, she successfully sold “Home Interior,” managed several investment properties and most recently retired from Grand Avenue Commons Apartments. Her favorite career endeavor was most certainly the founding and operating of Sandra Wills Bus Trips that took her and many others across the country. Sandy was a member and past president of the Lake Santee Woman’s Auxiliary, Lewisville Order of the Eastern Star, and former “Queen Mother” of the local Red Hat Society. She was also very instrumental in founding the Knightstown Senior Center. Sandy enjoyed nothing better than a good yard sale, collecting cookbooks and antiques, clogging, line dancing and water aerobics.
Sandy leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 40 years, Billy Wills of New Castle; children, Donna Wills Wilson of Ft. Myers, FL, David (Tonia) Wills of New Castle, Cynthia “Suzee” (Scott) Neal of Knightstown, Charlynn “Lynn” Neal of New Castle; grandchildren, Courtney Kilgore of New Castle, Chase Wilson of New Castle, Zane (Jocelyn) Neal of Knightstown, Jordan Wills of New Castle, Jeremy Wills of New Castle; brothers, George (Marian)Turner of Moyock, NC, Fred (Sarah) Turner of Spiceland; sister-in-law, Florence Treadway of Greenfield; cousins, Jack and Shelia Turner and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, Goddaughter, Kristtal Wells and many other friends.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her grandson, Bryant Joe Neal; sister, Shelia Lewis; son-in-law, Al Wilson.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Rev. Danny Goddard officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Order of the Eastern Star Service beginning at 7:30p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice.
