Sarah Margaret “Maggie” Grubbs, Richmond, 70, passed away at her residence on September 18, 2021. She was born March 22, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles Benjamin Grubbs and Mildred Anna Strate Grubbs.

Maggie was raised in Madison, Indiana. She later resided in New Albany, Indiana and has most recently lived in Richmond, Indiana, since 2002. Maggie was a Christian and longtime member of Hanover Presbyterian Church. Maggie enjoyed reading, dancing, gardening, singing and spending time with her family. Maggie was most recently employed at the Floyd County Probation Office, however she has been disabled since 1990. Maggie was a loving friend to many and enjoyed helping others in any way she could.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her spouse: Walter Marsh Giddings; daughter: Wendy J. Tolliver and her spouse, Wayne Tolliver; stepdaughter: Elizabeth Jane Judt; eight grandchildren: David “Patric” Sparks, Christian Meyer (spouse, Brooke Meyer), Chandler Meyer, Tieren Mann, Erilyn Mann, Autumn Picket and Anderson Pickett; one great grandchild: Asher Jenkins; two sisters: Becky Skirvin, (spouse, Bill Skirvin) and Rosemary Stucker; three brothers: John Grubbs, (wife, Sharon Grubbs), James “Jimmy” Grubbs and Tom Grubbs (spouse, Shirley Grubbs); and a host of other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by a daughter: Sarah Lee Long; and two brothers: David L. Grubbs and Joseph Benjamin Grubbs.

Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at 12 Noon, with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday two hours prior to the service. Community Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
