Sarah “Sally” A. Wynn, 85, formerly of Connersville, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019, at Community Hospital South, Greenwood surrounded by her loving family.
The only child of Sherley A. and Maude Case Barrett, Sally was born in Connersville on September 18, 1933. Sally graduated from Connersville High School and attained her Bachelor and Master of Arts in Education from Ball State Teacher’s College.
On March 23, 1974, Sally married John “Jack” Wynn in Connersville. Mr. Wynn passed away on May 14, 2011.
Sally was employed with Fayette County School Corporation, retiring in 1989. Over her 34 year career, she had the privilege of teaching grades 1, 2, 3, and 6 at Frazee Elementary School and taught for one year at the 5th Street Elementary School.
She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and was inducted into the Fayette County Education Hall of Fame in 2002. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, watching sports, and browsing the internet.
Survivors include two sons, John F. (Carol) Wynn and Dr. Mark M. (Margaret) Wynn, both of Connersville; seven grandchildren, Dr. Amy (Clint) Hardin of Connersville, Rachel (Andy) Frohberg of Reston, Virginia, Jenifer (David) Wynn-Harsh of Carmel, Indiana, Leslie (George) Wynn of Elkhart, Indiana, Scott (Caryn) Burton of Greenfield, Indiana, Michelle (Kevin) Struewing of Connersville, and Alissa (Peter) Cox of Richmond, Indiana; twelve great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband of 37 years, Jack Wynn, Sally was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Scott Wynn; and a granddaughter, Apryl Wynn.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home. Reverend Ronnie Russell will officiate. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
