Stanley “BoBo” Griffin, 64, passed away suddenly on March 23, 2020, at his home in Greenville, OH. He was born August 24, 1955, in Richmond, IN, the son of the late Mary and Farris Hampton.

He grew up in Richmond and after high school enlisted in the U.S. Army Infantry, stationed out of Fort Riley, Kansas. He served 8 years as a rifleman and was honorably discharged on June 13, 1980.

He was married to Anne (Beard) on April 7, 1978 in Canyon County, Kansas. Stan was a truck driver much of his career, he loved the freedom and solitude of the open road and experiencing the scenic views across the country. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR and dirt track racing — and in his younger days, he raced in the bomber class across many local area dirt tracks.

Later in life, he enjoyed building, tinkering with, and collecting model cars. Stan was a character, he was as stubborn, hard-headed, and feisty as they come, but through his grizzly beard he was big-hearted and could capture folks with his humor and storytelling (especially his grandkids).

Surviving are his son Matt (Cheryl) and 3 grandchildren (Lily, Emmy, Cam) of Carmel, IN; 2 brothers, Ted (Terrie) Hampton of Richmond, IN, Eddie (Paula) Hampton of Dade County, FL; 7 sisters, Ann Sergent of Lorain, OH, Becky Callahan of Aberdeen, NC, Freda Hampton of Richmond, IN, Sue (Mark) Cotter of Richmond, IN, Debbie (Jerry) Wourms of Williamsburg, IN, Teresa (Harley) Reeves of Richmond, IN, Sadie Reffitt of Richmond, IN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his beloved dog Bella. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Anne (2011).

Memorial donations in honor of Stan may be made to a veteran-related charity of your choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.rigglewaltermann.com

Out of concern for the coronavirus pandemic and current restrictions, a private burial will be held at Economy Cemetery in Economy, IN, with a memorial service held at a later date.
