Terry L. Mathews I, age 66 of Richmond, died Thursday morning (April 19, 2018) at Rosebud Village.
He was born in Richmond on February 19, 1952 to Paul and Rose Mary Sittloh Mathews and had lived here all his life. He was a retired 30-year employee of Indiana American Water Company. Terry was raised and married in St. Andrew Church. He was a former board member of the Neighborhood Services Clearinghouse, active in neighborhood associations and crime watch. He was known to be able to fix anything with his mechanical or creative ability. To know Terry was to know the definition of laughter, always quick to joke and make others laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sue Mathews; son Terry (Amanda) Mathews II, grandchildren Tierney, Liam, Rowan and Darcy of Greens Fork; brother Robert Mathews of Kentucky; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Gary, Paul and Edwin Mathews preceded him in death.
Services for Terry will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday April 25, 2018 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary. Deacon Jim Miller will officiate with assistance by Chaplain David Daniels. Burial will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday April 24, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
