WINCHESTER, Ky. – Thomas August Kohnle, age 86, of Winchester, Kentucky, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2016.
He was born on July 12, 1930, in Richmond, Indiana, to the late Bernard William Kohnle and Harriett Thomas Kohnle. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952 in active duty in Germany. He retired from Delta Natural Gas after 35 years of working as Vice President Controller. Tom enjoyed playing golf. He was a charter member and was still active at our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Lexington, Kentucky.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Gail Sudhoff Kohnle; children, Jeff (Julie) Kohnle, Karen (Stuart) Winburn, and Janis (John) Allen; grandchildren, Zack Allen, Andrew Allen, and Justin Allen; sister, Dorothy DeGuira of Cambridge City, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Bernice Mae McNally.
Visitation for Thomas August Kohnle was from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016, at Rolan G. Taylor Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Winchester, Kentucky. Funeral service was at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2255 Eastland Parkway, Lexington, Kentucky. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2016, at Earlham Cemetery, 1101 National Road West, Richmond. Local arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, Richmond.
