Violet R. Kissick, 85, of New Castle passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 at Hickory Creek of New Castle, following a long battle with dementia and Parkinson’s disease. She was born August 6, 1936 in Murl, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Johnnie W. and Iva E. (Matthews) Denney.

Violet was a 1954 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and was active with the class reunion committee and Class of 1954 scholarship committee. On July 8, 1969, Violet married Gerald Kissick. She retired from Henry County Memorial Hospital in 2002 after 48 years of service. She was a member of the North 14th Street Church of Christ and bowled with her husband on the hospital bowling team. Violet enjoyed reading, playing cards and traveling, especially to Gatlinburg. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Violet is survived by a daughter, Allison (Dave) McClure of New Castle; granddaughters, Audra and Claire McClure; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kissick and Mary Kay Razor, both of New Castle; several special cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Kissick; siblings, Otis Denney and Joyce Kidd; brother-in-law, Clifford Kidd, father-in-law and step mother-in-law, Arthur and Neva Kissick; mother-in-law, Hazel Kissick; special cousins Gene and Shirley Warth and Linda Ross.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 15, 2022 at South Mound Cemetery with Bob Caudill officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30-1:00 p.m. at the cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
