RICHMOND, Ind. – Virginia Faye “Jean” McCoy, age 82, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Reid Health.

Born November 7, 1936, in Lenoir County, North Carolina, to William Hyman and Ruby Tyndall Albert, Jean lived in Richmond, Indiana, for the past 50 years. She loved playing Bingo, crocheting, solving jigsaw puzzles, and visiting the ocean.

Jean was a wonderful mother who had enjoyed living with her son, Willie, after the passing of her husband and had lovingly cared for Willie for the past two years after he suffered a stroke.

Survivors include her sons, Johnny (Lisa) Jones of Richmond, Kentucky, and Willie (Ann) Albert of Richmond, Indiana; grandchildren, Heather Albert of Centerville, Indiana, Amy Cooper of Richmond, Indiana, Cody Jones and Johnny Jones II, both of Richmond, Kentucky, Bill Wall, Christina Bowers, and Ron (Amy) Wall, all of Richmond, Indiana, and Matthew Carpenter of Richmond, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Bently Cooper and Amber Wall, both of Richmond, Indiana; great-great-granddaughter, Angel Wall of Richmond, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Robert W. McCoy, who died December 29, 2010; parents; and siblings, Louise Hood, Earl Albert, Greyson Albert, and Juanita Provost.

Funeral service for Virginia Faye “Jean” McCoy will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 6, 2019, at the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum, 1101 National Road West, Richmond, with Chaplain Rick Alvey officiating. Entombment will be in the Earlham Memorial Mausoleum. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
