CAMBRIDGE CITY – Virginia “Ginny” Mason, 87 passed away Friday evening January 5, 2018 at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville. She had been battling dementia and Alzheimer’s since 2013. A daughter of the late Fred and Blanche Lewis, Ginny was born in New Castle on February 25, 1930. She grew up in New Castle and graduated from high school there in 1948. Ginny, her husband Hubert and daughter Beverly moved to rural Bentonville in 1965. She has made her home in Cambridge City since 1984. A homemaker, Ginny enjoyed knitting and cooking. Following the death of her husband, she did office cleaning at Sweet’s Construction. She was of the Quaker faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Mason of Cambridge City; 2 step daughters, Brenda (Gary) Pittman and Kay both of Florida; nieces and nephews and their families.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Mason in October of 1991; 1 sister Mary and her husband Dallas Lunsford; 1 brother Paul and his wife Diane Lewis.
Following cremation at the Eastern Indiana Crematory of Dublin, burial will be next to her husband at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle.
