Vivian Annette Walker, 62 answered her call to be with the Lord on Friday March 6, 2020 after a long lengthy illness.

Born to Martha F. Pope and Johnny A. Pope on December 14,1957, Cookie grew up most of her life in Richmond Indiana on the Northside of town and later became a Southsider. She attended Richmond Community Schools; and was a proud student at the Excel Center until her health began to fail.

She accepted Christ and became a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in June 1995 under the leadership of Pastor Earnest Randle.
Cookie was a homemaker for most of her adult life and she and Marvin were always known for “taking in” or “stealing” someone else’s child/children to love on. She had a love for music and always enjoyed sneaking off for a good game of BINGO. She also, enjoyed sitting on her porch on a nice sunny day.

She was crazy about her family near and far especially her grandchildren and enjoyed hosting family gatherings. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind to you or about you and would often have a few choice words to say, but overall, she truly had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Her smile, sassiness and laughter will surely be missed by all who knew her.

Cookie leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, childhood sweetheart and soulmate of 48 years Marvin; four children, Amy (Melvin), Keenan (Kirstin), Shala, Derrick, and one Nephew/Son Christopher (Samantha) Scott; four grandchildren, Paige, Keetan, Paityn and Koltin; Sisters, Thedda Pope and Cornelia Scott; brothers, John Wayne Pope, and Fred (Sue) Scott; sisters in love, Brenda Walker, Phyllis Reed, Sandra (William) Johnson, Suzy, Sally, and Jessie Walker; brother in love Roy Walker; one uncle Johnny Pope.

Honorary children, Marquez Jones and Kimberly Obi; Honorary “Sisters and Brothers” Zelma Hayes, Cathy Thomas, Joseph Thomas and Kenneth Thomas; Special nieces and nephews, Lisa (Fred) Vann, Diane (Larry) Garrison, LaMonica Scott, Kenya Pope, Stacey (Joseph) Dupree, LaVeeya and Dametrice Walker, Trent Pope, Leon Walker and Robert Walker aka “Biggie.”

Special lifelong friends, Julia Spicer, Adria Deloney, Etta Gee, Deborah Coleman, Lisa Holland, and Carol Burden; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Cookie is preceded in death by her parents, son Travis Pope, second mother Lottie Mae Thomas; sisters, Roberta Scott, Eugenia Cole, and Jackie Pope; brothers, Parrish and Kenneth Pope, Mom and Dad Walker, Brothers in love Leon Walker and Lester Cole.
