Obituaries - Vivian W. Younts

RICHMOND, Ind. – Vivian W. Younts, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Ambassador Healthcare.

Born December 4, 1924, in Richmond, Indiana, to Geoffrey F. and Erla May Couts Freeman, Vivian was a life-long resident of this community. She was a 1942 graduate of Richmond High School and a 1961 graduate of Dayton Business College. Vivian was one of the founders of Volunteer Tax Preparation Services, where she served for 29 years. She formerly worked as an accountant at Second National Bank for 10 years and did independent accounting work for other businesses Vivian was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Druids Lodge, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered at Morrisson-Reeves Library and the Richmond Senior Center during tax season. Vivian was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending Civic Theatre and Civic Hall productions and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Mike) Burtch of New Paris, Ohio; sons, Phillip “Butch” (Nancy) Younts of Centerville, Indiana, and Ronald E. Younts and Robert J. Younts, both of Richmond; son-in-law, Robert Nuss of Richmond;10 grandchildren, Greg (Tracy) Burtch of New Paris, Christopher (Jennifer) Burtch of Kentucky, D’Ann Daniels of Speedway, Indiana, Kylee (Blake) Southerland of Richmond, Rodney (Rhi) Younts of Richmond, Amanda (Randy) Glunt of Richmond, Eric (Amy) Younts of Michigan, Mary (Matt) Geremesz of Michigan, Jonathan (Jessica) Nuss of Richmond, and Danielle Nuss of Richmond; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; step-sisters; step-brothers; two cousins; and many friends, including Mary Hankosky and Sally Senese.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol J. Nuss; mother, Erla May Gahret; father; sister, Maxine Pollard; brothers, Richard, Donald, and William Freeman; niece, Judy Pierce; and nephew, Gary Pollard.

Visitation for Vivian W. Younts will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Terry Cochran officiating. Private burial will be in Earlham Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
