Walter L. “Walt” Wyatt, age 87, of Richmond, Indiana, died Sunday, February 21, 2021, at Reid Health.

Born June 29, 1933, in Richmond, Indiana, to Iredell and Reca Jane Cope Wyatt, Walt was a life-long resident of Richmond. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. Walt earned an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College. He retired from Perfect Circle in 1974. Walt was a member of Pentecostal Tabernacle Church. He was also a member of the NRA (National Rifle Association). Walt enjoyed fishing and being a ham radio operator.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Donna Lewis Wyatt; sons, Gary Wyatt of Richmond and Tim (Cindy) Wyatt of Indianapolis, Indiana; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Johnson of North Carolina and Shirley Campbell of Cincinnati, Ohio; brothers, Iredell (Joyce) Wyatt Jr. of North Carolina and David and James Wyatt, both of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Mann; parents; sister, Doris Evelyn Wyatt; and brothers, Bill, Alva, and Donald Wyatt.

Visitation for Walter L. “Walt” Wyatt will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 1, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Tyler Luck officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask in the funeral home. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
