Wanda Irene Norris, 91, of New Castle, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at Glen Oaks Health Care Campus.
She was born Nov. 3, 1927, in New Lisbon, Indiana, a daughter of Irvin and Pearl Plough Thomas.
She was a graduate of New Lisbon High School and attended college for 2 years. She was a lifelong Henry County resident and had worked as a secretary for Henry County Memorial Hospital and Heritage House Nursing Home for many years.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Henry County Hospital Gray Lady, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother and several social organizations including the Elks, the Moose Lodge and the Eagles. She enjoyed family activities, sewing and quilting,
Left to cherish her loving memory include two sons: Donald J. Norris and his wife Dalene of New Castle, Indiana and Jerry A. Norris and his wife. Kristi of Jupiter, Florida; grandchildren, Heather Norris, Carmen Norris, Tyler Norris, Jerry Brandon Norris and his wife Kristi and Jennifer Chroniak and her husband John; great-grandchildren, Eli and Isaac Chroniak, Ciella and Silver Norris, Shayle Major and Zachary Miller, niece Cindy Nicholson and great-niece Richelle Dietrick and Melissa Aldaco; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Aug. 4, 2014; and a sister Emogene Grant.
Family and friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Macer Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 600 S. Main St., New Castle.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Macer Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service with the Rev. Joel Troxell officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery.
