RICHMOND, Ind. – Wanda J. Hughes Willis, age 78, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, January 26, 2018, at Reid Health.
Born September 23, 1939, in Richmond, Indiana, to Herbert B. and Lucille J. Lybarger Sheffer, Wanda was a life-long resident of this community. She owned and operated Wanda’s Crafts for 10 years and formerly worked at Flowers By Carla, JOANN Fabrics and Crafts, and Hand-In-Hand Adult Day Care of Richmond. Wanda enjoyed playing Bingo at the Richmond Senior Community Center, traveling, working with flowers, and spending time with her family and grandkids. She was a talented artist, who painted many pictures for her friends and family.
Survivors include her daughter, Karla (Bruce) Johnson of Richmond; sons, Brian (Peachie) Hughes of Cambridge City, Indiana, and Patrick (Angela) Hughes of Richmond; grandchildren, Jason (Tabby), Krisann, Jennifer, David, Brittney, and Zackery; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Charlotte; brother, Robert (Cindy) Sheffer of Dunreith, Indiana; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including special friend, Carl McHugh of Connersville, Indiana, and her fur baby, Blackie-Sue.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael; parents; and two infant siblings.
Visitation for Wanda J. Hughes Willis will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
