Wanda L. (Chaney) Denney, 76, of Middletown, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Henry Community Health. She was born on September 22, 1945, in Calhoun, KY, to the late Charlie and Eva Christine (Frailey) Chaney.

A 1963 graduate of Walter P. Chrysler High School, Wanda worked at Crider’s Drive-In and then for RCA in Marion before raising her son. She enjoyed working with flowers, attending and coordinating family gatherings, collecting blown glass as well as Stieff and Gund teddy bears. Her family describes her as a fantastic, wonderful and kind person. She loved life, her husband and her son dearly.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of over 58 years, whom she married June 8, 1963, Roy E. “Sonny” Denney of Middletown; a son, Troy (Marie) Denney of Plainfield; adoptive son, Mark (Jodi) Schell of Brownsburg; granddaughter, Alyssa Schell of Brownsburg; siblings, Ivan (Susie) Chaney of Plainfield, Linda Chaney of New Castle, Glinda (Mike) Miller of New Castle, and Chester (Tracie) Chaney of New Castle; several nieces and nephews, Chris (Dana) Chaney of Mooresville, Mitzi Jordan of New Castle, Chasity (Jason) Huckeby of Sulphur Springs, Derrick (Allison) Chaney of Plainfield, and Dane Miller of Camby; several great nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
