Wayne County’s public school districts announced delayed starts for Monday, Feb. 1, because of predicted icy road conditions. Here’s what we have gathered so far from local districts:

Centerville-Abington

Centerville schools will be delayed 90 minutes.

Nettle Creek

School will begin at 10 a.m., so everything will be delayed 90 minutes.

“We will be monitoring the weather tonight and the roads tomorrow morning to determine if we need to conduct an eLearning Day or not,” Superintendent Kyle Barrentine wrote in a note to families.  “If you do not get another message, we will operate on the delay. I realize that New Castle has already called an eLearning Day for tomorrow, but we would prefer to be in person if the weather and the roads allow for it.”

Northeastern Wayne

Latchkey is canceled. Elementary dropoff at 9:50 a.m. for a 10 a.m. start; Middle/High dropoff at 10 a.m. for a 10:10 a.m. start. Preschool drop off at 10:10 for 10:15 start.

Richmond Community Schools

RCS will have a 2-hour delay. Dismissal times will be: Elementary 2:40, Hibberd 3:15, Dennis/Test/RHS 3:30. There will be no morning preschool classes.

Western Wayne

School will begin at 10 a.m. There will be no morning preschool. Bus schedules will be adjusted accordingly. Car riders can be dropped off beginning at 9:45.
